Gubi computer systems company held 15th March 2011 informal meeting of the HR managers of leading hotels in Prague on Workforce Management in the international hotel practice.
"The issue of cost management in relation to availability and scheduled events Conference last year was often mentioned by our clients in the country. Many of them perceive the human resources management as a challenge to improve the financial efficiency of their organization. To assess the issue responsibly, we completed an internship in Israel, where we visited a number of hotels including Hilton, Sheraton and the local chain of 13 four and five star hotels Isrotel. They met with their HR managers, financial directors and heads of operating divisions and were interested in ways of managing human resources, depending on availability. When we realized that there are ways to significantly reduce the cost of hotels and spas, we contacted the 20 largest hotels in Prague, which confirmed the difficulties in this area. Therefore we decided to hold a thorough debate on HR management costs, "said Peter Gubi before.
The Prague meeting were presented procedures planning, HR budgets, monitoring their observance of human resources in international hotel chains in Israel and Canada as well as issues that deal with their managers in the field of workforce management.
The discussion was part of the meeting room for comparison with the findings presented in the CR practices and assessing the possibility of applying international practices to local conditions. Participants agreed on the growing pressure for greater management efficiency and processes, staff costs, which brought economic recession and the need to find ways to reduce costs in this area.
Much attention was focused on discussion of the most popular tools for management and control costs - especially MS Excel and restrictions that brings with it - the availability of information for workers, difficulty in data changes or problems with daily monitoring costs.
"The benefits of the meeting is mainly that we have verified the transferability of HRM practices and reduce costs in the international environment in the spa and hotel segment and hear the views of managers, which currently prevent them in achieving higher efficiency. The discussions also talked about the problems that exist in planning costs, outsourcing or management of absenteeism and overtime, where we see great potential for further savings "meeting reviewed Alexei Kumpošt of organizing society.
